Chlamvdia is a sexually transmitted infection (STI)
caused by a tiny bacterium, chlamydia trachomatis.
It is the most common STI in the UK and the number of cases is till rising year-on-year.

The disease is often dubbed the "silent epidemic" because it can be a symptomless condition

Discomfort along the urethra, or urinary
tract
Penile discharge
Pain or swelling of the testicles due to a less common but serious infection known as epididymo-orchitis
Pain or discomfort in the pelvis due to prostatitis, which is inflammation of the prostate gland
